Best Buy Europe eyes Homebase superstores
A Homebase spokesperson said: "We can confirm that, in common with most other bulky goods retailers, we have been approached by Best Buy to discuss the potential acquisition of two current Homebase stores - Enfield and Aintree.

"Discussions are at an advanced stage and a deal, subject to appropriate planning consent, is likely to be confirmed this week. The Enfield store is currently trading and store colleagues have been briefed about the proposed deal. The Aintree store is currently not trading and no colleagues will be impacted by the closure."

Best Buy Europe, a joint venture between US electricals giant Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse, plans to launch its first stores here in the spring.
