B&Q Christmas ad focuses on feel-good factor

Published: 13 November 2012
B&Q's Christmas campaign breaks tomorrow, November 14, the ad aiming to encourage consumers to decorate and titivate their homes in time for the big day.
B&Q Christmas ad focuses on feel-good factor
The TV ad will be mirrored in forthcoming press ads, digital marketing, social media and PR campaigns as well as in store.

The ad will launch nationwide on air and online, and features Mum and Dad putting the finishing touches to their home to create the perfect Christmas. Mum is decorating the tree, whilst Dad is hanging the new curtains and touching up the paintwork. What they haven't bargained for is that their young daughter has decorating plans of her own - and her aesthetic standards aren't quite as high.

The visuals are accompanied by a new version of the Crosby Stills and Nash's "Our House" that B&Q has been using throughout its campaigns all year.

B&Q head of advertising Ruth Harrison-Wood said: "This advert is all about the feel-good factor, that family scene that we're all familiar with and the satisfaction we all get from making improvements to our homes and the lives of our families. And, of course that extra little titivation to get your home perfect, this year."
