B&M to move into former BHS store

Published: 25 October 2016 - Jenny Wonnacott

B&M has announced plans to open its second Hartlepool branch by moving into premises recently vacated by BHS.

B&M has confirmed the new venture in Middleton Grange shopping centre will open in November and create more than 25 new jobs. It is believed to be one of the first BHS store takeovers in the country following the retailer's demise earlier this year.

A spokesperson for B&M said: " We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store. “We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door next month.”

The store reportedly already has a notice in its window explaining B&M's imminent refurbishment.
