B&M store in Kettering opens

Published: 8 November 2013
A new B&M Homestore in Kettering opened today, after moving into a former Focus DIY unit.
The 27,000sq ft store also has a garden centre and B&M moved into the site, on Kettering Retail Park, after plans were submitted to the local council to change the use of the unit to allow the sale of non-DIY products.

The new store focuses on key product areas including paint, soft furnishings, homewares and gardening goods, but it also sells its usual discounted everyday essentials.

Operations director Carl Allen said the company had been waiting for an opportunity in Kettering for three years and it was delighted to have secured the site.

B&M now has 360 stores across the country, compared to having just 20 stores six years ago. In the last three years, the company has been opening an average of one store every week and it is now one the UK's largest retailers.
