Now in its third year, the collaboration between UK manufacturer and distributor Slemcka, and Britain's favourite chef, Antony Worrall Thompson, continues to go from strength to strength, with new products and marketing initiatives being rolled out for the forthcoming barbecue season.

Key to the success of Antony Worrall Thompson's Outdoor Living Range has, says the company, been the decision to continue to drive the market upwards with premium barbecues and accessories products that appeal to consumers who want to embrace the whole outdoor living and dining experience and are prepared to spend to do so.

In recent years Antony's branding has helped to inspire consumers and importantly given them the confidence to be more adventurous when barbecuing and they in turn are investing in higher priced, professionally styled products that will help them achieve success and enhance their barbecuing experiences.

Brand new for this season and heading up the AWT Outdoor Living Range is the Signature 5 Burner Wagon Grill with Side Burner and Ceramic Grill, with a RRP of £700.

Comments Richard Gray, responsible for Antony's brand at Slemcka: "Despite the rigours of last year's weather and the uncertain economic climate that currently prevails, we remain optimistic and I'm pleased to say that pre-season sales for the AWT barbecues range have been excellent, in fact as this goes to press, we are in a position that we have already sold in the entire range for this coming season. We are particularly confident in the new 5 burner model and anticipate that it will soon be replacing the 4 burner as our best selling model. The combination of a trusted no-frills Chef with a quality BBQ is proving increasingly successful at inspiring high ticket sales."

Other additions for this year see the launch of two brand new collections under the Antony Worrall Thompson brand. These are food-based BBQ Gift Sets and the Notting Grill range of Barware items.

Named after one of his famous London restaurants, the Notting Grill Barware range of professionally styled products will include cocktail sets, corkscrews and ice buckets. The BBQ Gift Sets are beautifully presented, boxed kits eg BBQ Basting Set, Seasoning Tub Set and Outdoor Kitchen Set. Both new collections are designed to tap into the growing trend for home and outdoor entertainment and will provide retailers with potential to increase sales and profits.
