A fresh approach to fundraising

Published: 22 July 2009
Wickes will raise money for Leukaemia Research this summer through the sale of car air fresheners at the point of sale.
The 'Summer Fresh' air fresheners feature Leukaemia Research's cartoon blood cell 'Bluffy' complete with tool belt to appeal to Wickes' customers. All donations (suggested amount £1 per air freshener) will go to the charity.

Wickes' partnership with Leukaemia Research began in October 2006 with the original aim of raising £20,000 in a year. The total amount raised now stands at £700,000 and the partnership has been extended to December this year.

Leukaemia Research director of fundraising Kate White said: "The air fresheners are another great fundraising idea by Wickes. All the money raised will go to our life-saving research, adding to the amazing amount that Wickes colleagues and customers have already raised."
