Product use
Liberon Kitchen and Bathroom Varnish is a specially formulated, water based varnish for wet and humid rooms. Resistant to both water and high temperatures, it is ideal for kitchen work surfaces or for wooden bathroom furniture. Suitable for use on most types of wood, European and exotic, it is perfect for surfaces which undergo heavy domestic usage and its non-drip, quick drying formula means it is touch dry in 30 minutes.

Preparation
Ensure the surface is bare, clean and dry.

Bare Wood
: for greater protection timber may be treated with an interior wood treatment before varnishing.

Varnished Wood
: sand carefully with fine grade (240) sand paper. If the varnish is flaking strip with Liberon Fine Wood Stripper. Neutralise with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover or white spirit. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Sand and remove all dust.

Painted Wood
: strip with Liberon Fine Wood Stripper. Neutralise with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover or white spirit. Allow to dry for 24 hours. Sand and remove all dust.

Waxed Wood
: remove wax finishes with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover. Sand and remove all dust.

If you want to colour the wood you can apply Liberon Palette Wood Dye to the timber before varnishing. Alternatively Liberon Palette Wood Dye may be added to the varnish to create unique colour tones. Liberon Palette Wood Dye is available in a range of wood shades.

Application
Stir well before use. Apply two, or more coats if required, with a paint brush or spray gun (diluted with 10% water) to clean and dry wood. Allow the first coat to dry for 3 hours before sanding lightly with a fine grade sand paper (240) then remove all dust before applying further coats. Ideal conditions for application are between 12°C and 25°C when dry.

Important:
Always test product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour compatibility and end result. Please note that the more coats applied the higher the level of sheen.

Cleaning and maintenance
Wipe any spills immediately. If the surface is extremely dirty mild household cleaners may be used to remove any stains. If the surface shows signs of wear, re-apply a coat of varnish.

Precautions
Allow all wood dyes to dry thoroughly before applying Natural Kitchen and Bathroom Varnish.

Care must be taken on the application of the first coat of Kitchen and Bathroom Varnish when being used over Liberon Palette Wood Dye. Keep brush strokes to a minimum as over brushing may lift out the colour.

The varnish may raise the grain on some hard woods.

Do not exceed a 20% dilution of Kitchen and Bathroom Varnish with Liberon Palette Wood Dye.

Kitchen and Bathroom Varnish is not suitable for applying over an oil or solvent-based finish.
