Exclusive Gala Banquet at the Banqueting House
The Palace of Whitehall was the Sovereign’s main London residence from the reign of Henry VIII reign, until its destruction by fire in 1698. The only part to survive was the Banqueting House, a lone testament to the splendour of a regal past.

Designed by Inigo Jones for James I and completed in 1622, the Banqueting House was an architectural marvel for its era. Inspired by Italian Renaissance palazzi it ushered in a whole new era of architecture. Charles I commissioned the Flemish artist Sir Peter Paul Rubens to embellish the main hall with a cycle of nine ceiling paintings depicting the achievements of his predecessor James I. Completed in 1635, this magnificent ceiling is one of the finest complete installations of Baroque art in the country.
