Decorative paint and woodcare sales continued to improve in June, and the outlook for future business is positive too.
2014 paint sales could grow by 10%, say suppliers
That's according to the latest statistics from the British Coatings Federation (BCF), although it says the industrial coatings sector remained more subdued.

The BCF's Business Confidence Survey suggests that the UK market will maintain good progress throughout the remainder of the year, especially on the decorative paint side, though the industrial sector is also expected to pick up.

Amongst decorative paint companies there is an almost universal view that sales will continue to increase, and with a third of companies expecting value growth in excess of 10%.

On the industrial side, 90% of companies are now forecasting UK sales value growth for 2014, with one in four expecting an improvement of more than 10%.

Exports are also expected to show growth in 2014, with almost all firms in the sector forecasting higher sales.
